What a week at Datacloud Global Congress, Cannes!
We had an exciting working week in Cannes for the 20th Datacloud Global Congress. Arriving at the iconic Palais des Festivals, our leadership team were all in attendance – with a mission to spread our message and provide delegates with a tangible path to clean, reliable, and cost-effective power.
To kick off the event, our CEO & Founder, Alexander Goodall, got the opportunity to sit down with Nadine Hawkins, Editor of Capacity Magazine. They discussed the journey of Xela Energy and our unique approach to solving the power issues currently limiting the otherwise booming data centre industry. Alexander also discussed what lies ahead for our business as well as our primary project with IBM this year.
Straight from the interview, Alexander headed over to join Andy Davis for a podcast session with fellow start-up CEO, David Mitchell of XYZ Reality. This lively discussion covered challenges and opportunities that founders face within the digital infrastructure industry and fresh insights on ways to overcome issues such as skills shortages.
Meanwhile, Amy Young, Director of Data Centres, contributed to the first of two panels. She was joined by an array of representatives from businesses across the Data Centre industry, including Digital Bridge and Norton Rose Fulbright to explore the evolving risk landscape. Their discussion spanned topics such as power procurement, sustainability and financial risks involved when it comes to building and scaling data centres.
Amy’s second panel closed out the first day of the show, joined by industry leaders from the likes of Meta and Deerns, the discussion centred around how to adapt and thrive whilst leading the digital revolution. Main insights included ways to accelerate innovation, adapt to combat skills shortages and new approaches to sustainability, ESG and talent acquisition.
Throughout the day, the leadership team met with numerous potential clients to discuss how we can bring them clean, cost-effective, secure energy to allow them to respond to the demands within the digital infrastructure industry.
Whether it was commenting on panels, or conversing with like-minded customers, the whole team enjoyed the innovative approach and endless energy of the show. A meeting of the finest in the data centre industry, this is an event we look forward to each year. And what better way to celebrate than hosting a rooftop event to raise a glass with our valued friends, clients and colleagues.
Thank you to everyone we saw in Cannes, and if we didn’t get to meet, get in touch today!
